How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a 1961 musical by Frank Loesser and book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert, based on Shepherd Mead's 1952 book of the same name.
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a musical satire about a young man who uses a book of instructions to climb the corporate ladder. The show is a musical based on the hit Broadway production. The show is about J. Pierrepont Finch , a window cleaner who finds a book called How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and decides to use its tactics to succeed in business. Finch's rise from mail-room clerk to Vice President of Advertising at the World-Wide Wicket Company is aided by his loyal girlfriend, who loves him more than commercialism. The show is a satire on "big business" and its success is due to neither hard work nor other ancient prescriptions for success. The show includes a corporate bigwig, a secretary, a competitor, and an ex-cigarette girl.
